By the halfway point, Suzuki had built a two lap cushion over the Humans. Solmax stayed in third a lap behind, and Elephant held a slim lead on Hard Core for fourth. Suzuki lost the lead just after the three hour mark when the GSXR's tank ran dry. James was able to keep the bike rollmg to the entrance of pit row, but had to be pushed the rest of the way. " I think Jamie accidentally swi tched the electronic reserve on. H e said it went into a real bad tank slapper, so it probably happened then. O n the final restart, Harth charged ou t front, turning in the q uickest laps of th e da y (high 1:0Is) to pull out a slim lead over Hall. Solmax elected to run with reliable John Eidenberger in the last hour to assure the Heavyweight Production class win. . Shawn Nicoloff was riding the wheels off the Hard Core Suzuki, trying to catch Team Elephant broth ers David and Tom Sartorious in the final hour. Chuck Mathis and George Fox turned into heroes for their teams in the last hour. Mathis put Team CIA ahead of Red Stripe Racing to take the Lightweight win by 24 seconds. Fox took over on the Team Savannah Honda Hurricane with a half hour to go to guide his team to victory over the always tough Royale Racing. "Airborn" AI Wilcox waved the checkered flag after six grueling hours of competition, and it was Suzuki 's H art h crossing the finish line ahead of the Human Race Team. Sol max finished a lonely third, gaining their class win goal, and Hard Core's Nicoloff ca me up 12 Second place Lightweight division finishers Laid Back Racing (102) lead third place Red Stripe Rac ing (11 ) and fourth place Terror Rac ing (13) at the start. All three teams rode Yamaha FZR400s.
