Wrlllht does no wrong at Ringgold SX By Joe Williams RING G O L D, GA, MAY 7 Danny Wright combined 1-2 rnoto finishes to take the overall victory in the Senior Mini B class in round four of the Supercross of Ringgold Spring Senes. . Wright, sponsored by Cornpetiuon Plus, snatched the lead in the first moto and Kevin Smith was running in second place before being passed by Terry Hill on the second lap. Hill started to narrow Wright's lead, but soon tired and had to settle for second. Mark Guess finished third, followed by Shane Hatfield and Wayne Harrison. In the second moto Hatfield riding for Rose Kawasaki, jumped out front and started to pull away from Wright, Harrison, Tim Watkins and Hill. Wright started to close up on Hatfield, but almost high: sided and decided to back off and cruise in second. Hatfield won, followed by Wright, Guess, Harrison and Hill. Wright increased his points . lead over Hatfield with the overall win. In the Senior Mini A class Will McEntyre, sponsored by Kawasaki of Rome, pulled the holeshot ahead of James Bryant and Brandon Smith. Smith took second away from Bryant ~n the second lap and started to reel In McEntyre. Smith's charge came to a sudden halt on the third lap when he went down hard. Bryant regained second, followed by Rose Kawasakibacked Bryan Gilliam. McEntyre took the checkered flag with a goodSIZe lead over Bryant and Gilliam. Smith finished in fourth. The start of the second moto had McEntyre and Smith running neckand-neck all the way to the second comer where Smith took the lead for good. .with McEntyre running all alone In second, the race to 'watch was for third between Gilliam and Bryant. On the fourth lap the race for third got too close when Gilliam and Bryant crossed lines and both r~ders went down. Bryant was the first to get hack underway; finishing just ahead of Gilliam. In the first moto of the Senior Men's class Butch Heatherly pulled the holeshot and started to pull away from Chris Bonds and Cliff Dockery, who soon crashed. Charlie Jones moved up to third ahead of Phil Phillips. Heatherly took th e ch eckered flag with a five-second lead over Bonds. On the .last lap Dockery shook out the cobwebs and charged past Jones and Phillips to take third. Heatherly pulled the holeshot again in th e second rnoto and led until the second lap -w hen Bonds made his way to the front. On th e third lap, a fall dropped Heatherl y to fifth, but he charged back, displacing Phillips, Jones and Dockery. Heatherly pulled up alongside Bonds at the finish and in ched ahead for the win.
