Curry, Sisemore top 8ay'ands Speedway By Bill Spencer FREMONT , CA, AP R. 28 Jim Sisemore a nd hi s Truman Bailey special topped the Handica p ma in even t, and Kid Curry ca me o ut th e Scra tch main winner duri ng the 1988 opening n ight of Class A Speedway action at Baylands Raceway Park. Rocky Rob in son a nd the Custom Equipment Special a ppeared to be the top dog in th e Scra tch main, coming up with a great start alongside J ohn Houston, Jr., but Robinson soo n dropped out with mechanical problems. At the fini sh , Curry and th e B&W Machine shop mount edged -Sizemore, who finished second in close q uarters o n th e Brown's Corner/ Arai special. Houston had to settle for third. In th e H andicap show, it was the last lap th at decided th e feature race. Bill H ermant led off th e line on th e H &S Cycle Warehouse special. but soo n dropped o u t due to mechanica l mi sfortune. Shawn Rep pert a nd Mike Solis took over a nd had a real dogfight until Sizemore a n d Curry ca m e along. Cu rry and Sizemore made a sand wic h o ut of Reppert as the y passed o n the fin al lap. Sisem ore too k the win , wit h Curry finishing second. Houston worked his wa y to third by the checkers. Brian Pecor e and th e J im William s racing spec ia l had a good tussle with Scott Yarbro ugh's Solano Concrete machine in th e Di vision Two fin al. Pecore took th e win with Yarb rough fin ishing just a few inches back. Mark Sq u ad ri to took th ird ove r Cana dian Shaw n Venables.
