When th e ga tes dropped a t th e sta rt o f th e firs t moto, G ary Paul rubbed elbows with Kitsch through th e first _ tum, but Kitsch soon pulled away fro m th e p ack an d set a hot pace. Kevin Fol ey dove around Br ian Broussard to tak e over the third place p osition th en moved in to put th e pressure on Paul. Kitsch slid out, a llowin g Fol ey and Paul to get by. Kits ch got back around Paul when . he overshot a berm, th en set his sigh ts on Foley. Foley handed Kitsch the lead when he laid it over so low his bike sn agged into th e sand. Kitsch styled in for th e win with Paul, Foley, Broussard and Lonnie Tucker following in that order. I didn't go down, but when I stepped on the foot pe~, it put on th e brake. I kicked it until it finall y got off th e foot peg. I had som e time to make up. " Kitsch battled to hold off Fol ey a nd Paul as th ey headed in to th e first turn at the start of moto two, but Foley kept it open and claim ed th e lead. Paul cut under Kitsch to move into second, then Kits ch opened it up and diced to get back. into the lead. During th e last lap Kitsch zoomed ahead of Foley and went in for the Win.
