AT REST Fork movement is regulated by the amount of fork oil metered through the factory engineered orifices in the damping system. These orifices are specifically "U"r-I",_ sized based on weight, geometry and anticipated . usageof each motorcycle. Fork oil selection iscriticaltoinsure instant and predictable damping ~;a~ 6 response regardless of speed, , :II temperature or ground '''1~t....''1 surface. Consistent viscosity in all weight ranges, seal conditioning, anti-wear additives and antifoaming agents are prime factors in choosing the proper COMPRESSION fork oil. Compression damping forces are designed to balance forkcompressionspeed with the obstacle it encounters. Small obstacle: Oil moves in and out of orifices quickly, without resistance, providinga . smooth uninterrupted'teetlnq. Large obstacle: As the fork continues to compress, oil is quickly , forced through the orifices, rapidly 'T:\'~F7~ "... building hydraulic resistance to Jr slowthe fork and minimize bottoming. Consistent fork oil viscosity is the key ingredient that can smoothly absorb the slightest impact or rapidly increase resistance for the unseen REBOUND obstacle. Fork oil viscosity directly affects the return of speed of your fork after compression. The objective of rebound damping Is to maintain tirecontact with the ground, insuring traction and steering control: Although the factory has engineered a pre-determined return speed, variables such as rider's weight, terrain and temperature make custom tuning a necessity. Only PJ1fork tuning oil is formulated to maintain a consistent viscosity. It makes fine tuning a simple process. am 01 mU·deal recomme PJ1 ForM Oil" M ike Burlingham.
