H e fini shed th e we ekend with o ne troph y and a painful gaping hole in his left kn ee. The GTU class of th e lOOK ra ce featured a ba ttl e between Hurricane riders Thomas Ea tman a n d J oe Serbin, with Eatman com ing from behind to win by passing in a nearcollision through tum 12. Serbin beat o ut Yamaha FZ600 rider Jim Cox for second p lace. In sprint race action, Bo u lder Yamaha/Jolly Rancher/ Shoei/ BG O ils/ J ones Glasses-sponsored Hoppers tad wo n the Heavyweight Su perbike event, with.David Clyde defea ting J o hn Burgoyne for second pl ace aft er a race-long tussle; both riders were H onda 750 Interceptormounted. Dann y Walker won a hotly contested Middleweight Superbike race which was red -flagged twice, beating Mik e Williams and Diane Dietzel to the flag . The race was restarted after a terrifying three-rider accident at th e head of the field on the first lap, which saw Mik e Lawrence lose his Nava helmet. Fortunately he was not seriously injured, and retu rned to race in a later event; th is time wearing his Shoei helmet. T he ra ce was red-flagged again and ' called com p lete at the ninth of 17 la ps when Stu Morrison went down in the esses, injuring his a nkle. Vance & H ines' Jamie Lewis crashed into the turn four concrete retaining wall duri ng the same race, serio us ly inj uring h is elbow.
