Former 250cc National Champion Donnie Greene rode a Yamaha TZ250
to the F-USA 600cc class win. topping Rotax-mounted Danny Coe.

Duane Summers won the Superbike A class on his Ducati, and finished
fifth in the F~USA 600cc cIau; Summers is a former desert racer.

Yamaha TZ250. Greene, who this
year has a choice of Yamaha or
Honda machines, put his TZ past
Pave for second on lap two. and set
his sights on Coe.
At the halfway point, he passed
Coe for the lead and held it to the
finish.
Greene had 'ear lier tied Wayne
Rainey's 1985 250cc record.of 1:30.1
at 100 mph, but this time it was Coe 's
tum , breaking the record with a
1:29.31 at 100.1 mph. James Domay
was awesome on Jim Dickinson's
bike race , finished a come-frombehind seventh, the first rider on a
Japanese production-based bike. .
When asked how he was able to
beat Coe after losing beforehand,
Greene replied. "We changed everything - the jetting, played with the
suspension - it's a brand new bike
and a new season so we'll just have
to see how it goes. "
Coe, who like Greene will be
contesting the AMA 250cc Grand
Prix Nationals, said simply, "I was
pretty close, but not close
enough."
