Brian Swink won both 85cc (12- 1 5) motos despite stopping to help

John Kitsch, John Reinhold and J o] 0 Keller
earn ed the 125, 250 and 500cc P ro overall
awards, respectively, a t the final race of the
Florida Winter AMA Mo tocross Series a t
Croom Raceway. But the series' crowns went to Keith Bowen, Bob Hannah and Jon MeCabe.

Bowen, I25cc Pro series champ, said,
" I would have liked to have won the
overall at this final race, but I lost
the clutch in the first moto. John
Kitsch was really going and deserved
th e win. "
U .S. Suzuki 's Hannah, who
crashed in both 250cc Pro starts and
played catch-up all day for second
overall and the series championship,
asked, "What is the Cycle News
headline going to be on this series,
'Old Man Thrashes 39 Youths?'"

couldn't afford 'to race."
Ironman JoJo Keller, who swept
both 500cc rnotos for his second
consecutive rounds , elaborated,
" Thunder Blue Racing fuel offered
to sponsor me this week. I tried their
fuel in the race today and it definitely
helps my Honda."
McCabe, 500cc series winner said,
" I had a good lead in the points and
wanted to be a little on the co nservative side to be sure I held it. JoJo
was definitely wired today and Keith
Johnson was flying in the first
rnoto."
Series promoter, Supers ports,
joined with Jeff Pingel of Kraftline
concessions to provide free food to
riders camping overnight at the
track. Cool weather and a ligh t rain
faile d to cast a damper on the final
day of racing. At stake were the $5000
Scott USA rider fund and series
contingencies from Suzuki, Yamaha
and Kawasaki and amateur series
trophies. One enthusiastic group of
fans, waving a Hannah cardboard
cutout shouted, " We saw Bob win
