San Francisco's Cow Palace is famous for its rodeo action with cowboys bulldogging wild steers, but there was some bulldogging action of a different sort during last weekend's 600cc National TT. Junior rider Andy Tresser of San Mateo, California, was running third and locked in a battle with Ted Boody and Sal Hoffman in the third Expert/Junior heat race when Tresser m isjudged his li n e going into turn one and clipped the hay bales on the inside of the track. The impact knocked Tresser off his motorcycle, but he ma naged to stay in the race by " bu lldoggi ng" his mount. "The bike put me into a tank slapper," Tresser said. " I stepped off the seat, ra n along with the bike, laid on th e bike and gassed it.." When Tresser turned on the throttle the bike straightened out; everyone who saw the incident agreed it was a great save. Despite the wild ride, Tresser held onto third place.
