Kennedy held onto the lead position until the last la p when Nick Tedesco 's charge th ro u gh th e pack carried h im right int o first p lace. Tedesco struggled to a fifth in the open ing m o to so ' hi s 5- 1 after noon gave him second overall, bea ting DeMarco 's 2-4 day. Bla ckwell finished th ird in th e seco nd mota to go with h is sixth for fourth overa ll while Bastek h ad h is problems in th e seco nd mo ta , fin ish in g eighth. J o ining Biscegl ia in th e win ner's circle was fellow H onda jockey Tony G raves, wi n ner of the 125cc Pro class. Bo th rno tos wer e h el d in to ta l down pours, ·m a king th in gs quite messy, to say th e least. The first 250cc P ro m o to saw Ka wasaki riders Denni s Sweeten, G ar y Beyer, Rob An ne n an d H o nd a pi lo ts Graves and Biscegli a dueling for p osi tions in two feet o f slo p on the o pe n ing lap. Each lap the field got sma ller, u ntil th e la tter stages, wh en o n ly three riders b raved th e co ndi tio ns. Bisceglia stayed o n two whee ls the lon gest to tak e the moto win with Sweeten seco nd and Beyer ma ki ng enough laps for third, Also co m bined were a good-sized bunch o f 250cc Intermed iates, led by ROdney Kell er , wh o hadn 't ridden for nearl y two years a nd clobbered th e competi tio n . Aaron Boehmer was th e on ly ot her Interm edi ate to finis h the slopp y firs t mota .
