;. ~ ~ ... . Yamaha's brand new DT/LC is a small-bore. dual-purpose motorcycle . powered by a 49cc. liquid-cooled. two-stroke engine. Last year, Yamaha's V-Max was gone. but the monster 1198cc DOHC V-4-powered factory custom returns in 1988 in all its eye-popping glory. The FRZR750R, Yamaha's street-legal version of its powerful superbike road racer. will be offered again in 1988 in limited quantities. In 1988. the FZ600 has the same digitally-controlled TCI ignition system found on larger FZ models. Otherwise. it's the same bike as last year. , J On Yamaha's custom Virago 1100, the handlebars and footpegs have been moved forward and a broader saddle has been added. The Radian 600. Yamaha's entry-level sport machine, has changed little for 1988. It boasts a 598cc DOHC in-line four-cylinder engine. The 1988 Venture Royale is the same top-of-the line tourer offered in 1987. It's powered by a liquid-cooled, 1294cc, V-4 engine. The 1988 V535 Virago, like the 1987 version. offers classic custom looks and is powered by a 535cc, air-cooled, SOHC V-twin engine. 7
