At the crossed flags Reeves was a lo ne in secon d while Mark Va n H ausen and J ason Fletcher took tu rns ow ni ng th e show spot. McD on nell h eld on to fift h a head of J erew an d the field. O ne of th e better rides of the night too k pla ce between Kevin Atherton, Mark Wyskiel and Darrell Davi s. Athe rton got off th e line in fourth beh in d Wyski el and worked for th ree laps to ge t by. O nce in third the yo u nges t . Atherton u sed the remaining seven laps to reel in Davis. The drag race to th e finish n etted Atherton seco nd by a ti re w idth. Craig Estelle kep t David Rayburn , Mark Cro setti an d Kri s Kiser in tow for fifth . With R oed er's KR a nd R all 's BSA fired , th e ca paci ty crowd push ed o n the fen ces to ge t a clea rer look a t th e two Ohio legends. R oeder 's KR h ad a slight m iss and Rall 's BSA had a h in t o f so me cl utch slip, bu t th e tw o veterans swap pe d p lac es an d lines m uch to th e delight of all present. .
