Ri ce's cha rge carried her from ffith to second within three laps, th en sh e pow ered o ut of a hairpin corne r to overta ke Warch for seco nd . One la p la ter , Pet er son followed suit and closed th e gap o n Rice, and o n the last lap the two were side-by-side charging to th e chec kered flag . Krist wins Metro Trials By Michael Beaudoin WINDSO R , CANADA, AUG. 8-9 T he Metro Trial s Club held its twoda y trial s in Windsor, thi s year, with a cha lle nging co urse for nov ice a nd adva nced riders. T he co urse was a 10 sectio n loo p, fea tu rin g tigh t turns, lo g s, o ff cambers an d o ne river sectio n. Greg Krist took th e Expert cla ss win o n Sa turday, with a 77, Martin Kerr' was seco nd with 97 and Bob Ca pistra n t.. with a bad ri gh t hand a fter a sp ill, took third with 124. Dave Waldo was fourth with 154 and Sa m Bowman fifth with 208. In th e Adv an ced cl as s Br ia n Ah erns was first with a score of 13. David Ri chardson scored 18 for seco nd and All en Morgan fin ished third with 28 poi nts. Bill Sm ith was fourth with 39 and Ron Mi ller fifth with 46 points. Steve H adrich won the Intermedi ate class with 14 and Bill Decker rod e the Senior class unopposed. A close race in th e Novi ce class saw Ch arl ie H ill s win with six over Michael Beaudoin 's seven points. Ron Ch arron a nd Mik e Teago n tied for thi rd with 13 points eac h. Patrick Beaudo in finished fifth with 18. On Sunda y morning th e Metro Club scra mbled to ch ange sections wh en heavy ra ins mad e all of the sectio ns ex treme ly slick a nd muddy. By morn in g the weather was cloudy a nd some of th e sectio ns were a lmost impossibl e to clean. The wea the r cleared by afternoo n and dried o ut most o f th e sections to keep th e scores' lo w. Krist was first again in the Expert cla ss with 72, second went to Ca pistrant with 114. Martin Kerr was th ird wit h a clos e 11 8, a nd Dave Wa ldo was fo urth with 134. The da y's stellar performances were logged by Mi ke Mohrbacher (KT M) . Mohrba cher wo n tw o. class es, topping th e Open Intermedia tes over Yamaha-mou nted Ben Wag em an , and the Up th e Hill class, bo th with I-I rides.
