Edge WILLOW, AK, AUG. 1-2 Northern P o wer Spcrts/ Su zu k i Motorcycle &: Marine-backed Erik Munson took the 250cc Expert class wins on both days of the Alaska State MX Championship Series. Riders converged on Capitol Speedway on a rainy weekend for round four of the series. The rain left the track with tremendous ruts, bu t Munson rode like he was dri ving a slot car and easily took all four motos of the 250cc Expert class, The 22 -year-old Anchorage resident spends the winters attending college in California and the summers dominating Alaskan race action. Munson's record is 16 straight 250cc Expert class wins this season. Munson's main competition in the series has come from Joe Good, but a crash in practice on Saturday sidelined Good with a severely damaged knee. Good is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the seaso n. Andy Workman took hi s selfsp o n so red Kawasaki to sec o n d behind Munson in Saturday's 125cc Expert class and then topped Munson in both motos of that class on Sunday, much to everyone 's sur prise. With only one ro und rem aining in the series, it will be hard for Workman to catch Munson in the series point sta ndings, but Munson won 't have it easy. Results SATURDAV 50 NOV: 1.
