Matt Bond took the point in the l25cc Amateur feature, followed closely by Steve Earnest, Jeff Oberdorff , Don Collins and Kyle Lamparter. Bond , Earnest and Oberdorff reight-trained around the George ascish-designed track, with Bond king the checkers. Mark Patterson laimed fourth ahead of Tom Perone nd Lamparter. Mike Bond powered into the first urn ahead -of Scott Garrison, Terry owery, Jerry Swisher and Eric Vatts in 250cc Novice action: Bond eld astrong lead for the win over owery, Swisher, Dennis Rinehiner nd Garrison. Tom Mowery grabbed points in the 250cc Amateur final with Rich ousseau .second ahead of Jeff Oberorff, .Scott Siadovnik and Max awford. Portz held on for econd with McIlvane, Teisler and elly rounding out the top five. Carroll and Coleman dueled heel-to-wheel in the 250cc Expert ualifier with Carroll taking the win y inches. Coleman took second head of Mike Twiford, Chris Bryildson, Ken Musserman and ichael Billy. The large spectator turnout lined e fences for the feature hoping to ee another battle between Carroll nd Coleman. They got what they aid fOT as Coleman powered in to he first turn inches ahead of Carroll, rynildsen, Messerman and einberg. That was the last the pack saw of roll and Coleman. They were on e gas and within two laps they had half-a-track lead on the pack. hey diced wheel-to-wheel and lbow-to-elbow, taking the tabletop ogether and really thrilling the owd. They raced within inches of ach other for seven laps and Colean held on for the win despite an Il-out attempt by Carroll at the heckers.
