Northrup got past first for the lead with McBride having to battle Peiper [or almost two laps before taking second away. Northrup marmed the point position until lap six when McBride guided his new machine past. Once by, McBride let the new machine out and he built up a small lead before taking the Sid Sutton checkered. Nordu;up looked like he was going to take second but in the last tum he went .from second back to fifth when Lucero, Faria and Oxley aU blitzed by.
