Jack Potter scored the 200cc A class
~n on a Kawasaki KX80 as small
displacement bikes seemed to be the
best for the run. The top rider in the
R class was Craig Holasek on a
Yamaha 125.

Jlactory Kawasaki rider Rodney Barr
showed his stuff in Sunday's opening
round of the Virginia Supercross
Shies. The three race series, pro·
9l~oted by Victory Sports, is being run
at the Wythe Raceway.
North Carolina's Jim Chester led
the show with the holeshot in the
125cc Pro qualifier. South American
National Champion Tommy Rios
held down the second slot followed
by Barr. Barr picked off Rios on lap
two and charged by Chester on the
third lap to take the win; Rios
muscled his way to second by the end
of the race.
Barr holeshot the main and led
from start-to-finish. Rios gated
s~cond, but Aaron Bollinger went to
second on lap two. Bollinger then
J:iUmped Rios, thus allowing Chester
i9 pass both of them. Rios recovered
from the incident and charged back
to take second at the flag.
Barr led the 250cc Pro qualifier
from start to finish while Robbie
Taylor and Rios followed in second
and third, respectively.

The 250cc Pro' main was one of
the most exciting races of the day as
Taylor and Barr battled froin the
Start. Barr gated first, but on the
fourtl:) lap Taylor jumped in the
lead. Taylor's lead was short-lived as
WI lasted for only one lap. At that
int, Barr retook the lead. Before
aylor could recover, Chester
lipped by and overtook second.
