out on the first lap, Sisemore was -? able to work past the other four riders .... to win his emi-final. Joe Leduc _worked hard to earn second place by •bolding off the other transfers, Marc - Prince and Mike Parsons. In the other semi-final Rocky Robinson was sent to the 50-yard line for jumping early and bad to watch from fifth as Nick Geranio, Dave Faria, Eddie Ingels and Steve Martin filled out the four transfer spots. In the main a false start put Faria back on the 50 with Ingels and Sisemore, but Sisemore was off and running with tbe fastest start. Moving quickly into fourth by the third lap, Sisemore was reeling in Parsons and Steve Crawford. Meanwhile Leduc's ti.me at the front was running out, starting from the 20 Leduc hung on for a few l.s before fading to fourth. It took a few laps longer, but Sisemore thrilled the crowd by moving into first during the last lap and won another exciting Handicap main. Martin was second and Parsons third. . Once the early jumping and nilling starts stopped in the money race, the Scratch main, it was John Houston Jr., outof gate one in a flash with Ingels, Robinson, and Crawford chasing. Komer claims Speedsville Trial By George Brinkwart SPEEDSVILLE, NY, MAY 17 I,'remier Mike Komer took his Montesa through the many off-camber, tight turns at Speedsville, dropping a total of 22 points for the day, to take the top honors of the trial. Fiftyfive riders came ou t to Speedsville, t.o try their hand at an Ithaca Dirt Riders' trial. High temperatures and humidity brought out the bugs which some riders reported inhaling while riding through the damp sections. Although the sections were not extremely difficult, they did require the riders' undivided attention. The sections were long enough to give those who dropped their guard a quick point or two. Dave Reed again took first place honors in the Advanced class, while the Intermediate class was won by Mark Pettit. Good riding on some of the· Expert lines helped Pettit secure his first place. Regan Faught took his Beta to a victory in the Novice class with an incredible score of one. When asked how he managed such a low score Regan said, "I just had to concentrate on keeping my feet on the pegs." The section giving Regan his single point was number 11. There, riders had to go up a creek full of slippery and loose stones and then over some exposed toots. The Senior B class was won by Barry Roberts on his new Montesa 335 dropping only 23 points. Laverne Bowen cleaned up the Senior A class wi th a 23 point total. A record seven riders competed in the Beginner class where winner Bob Hines piloted his TLR Honda to a 21 point total.
