Brinkwart VALOIS, NY , AP R. 26 Mike Ko~er was the top rider at AMA Distri ct 4's Trial at Valois. Great wea ther and great traction was th e order of the day for th e second event held in Va lois. Premi er rider Komer leveled a ll the sectio ns co ming in wit h on ly 3 points for the day. " It was a fun event, but a little easy," sa id Komer. " It would have been just righ t if we wo uld have had a littl e rai n." Novice rider Mik e Koval collec ted his seco nd first pl a ce trophy with 9 po ints. " Ba lance was the secret to the Novi ce sections ," said Ko va l. " Ba la nci n g on my b ike in the basement duri ng the wi nter months ha s really helped me." La vern Bow en cleaned up th e Senior A class with 7 points and Ro n Bors took Senior B class honors with 9 points. Some cra shes were reported in sectio n II whi ch ha d a tricky sus pe nded log. T he log had to be ridden abou t 30 feet from one end to the ot her. As the rid ers go t to the end, there wasn't much log left to ride on and they were slipping off both sides. T he growi ng Begin ner class was won by Robert Kuzneski with a score o f 9 points. J oann Ginder re ki nd led the Ladi es class whi ch had been dormat for severa l years. Mi ke An thony, recovering from a n early o ff-trac k excursion , caught u p a nd passed Schaefer, o nly to be repassed o n the last turn , and had to set tle for third by 20 feet.
