Peterson topped a co mpeti tive field of women racers at CRC' s Golden Bear G P at Perris. Peterson led Tami R ice in for the Wom en 's Expert class win. Peterson grabbed th e hol esh o t with Tamyra Tracy in seco nd, while R ice fo llowed in third. AXO sp o nsored Ti na Zahrt was first Novice on a Kawasaki . Coming in from the back sectio n of the course Peterso n had opened up a co mfortable lead over Hondamounted Tracy in second. Julie Putn am was running as first Amateur on a borrowed H onda while Mindy Smith was running seco nd a nd FMF, Shoei and While Bros.spo nsored Lori H edstrom was a close thi rd. On lap two, Rice passed T ra cy as Smith closed the gap, pressurin g P utn am for th e Amat eur lead .
