take effect. Jensen and Gregg had built a good-sized lead over the field, so he paced himself, knowing second would give him first overall. Gregg cruised to an easy moto win and second overall. The 125cc Novices were the largest class and had· to run qualifiers. In the main, Kirk Adcock blasted out of the gate first ahead of Mike Mitchell and the twosome roared away from the pack. Adcock also pulled away from Mitchell for a convincing victory. Eric Ricke and Matt Padgett dueled all the way in moto one of the 80cc Amateurs, but Padgett never succumbed to Ricke's pressure and edged him at the flag. Ricke retaliated in round two, quickly building a four-second lead over Padgett that he never relinquished, to take the overall win. Micah Moyes took the first moto lead from B~ Lynch on lap two of the 80cc NOVices and easily pulled away to the win. Lynch held off Tobey Hammond for second. Moyes never let Lynch catch him in round two, taking a perfect I-I tally for first overall. Lynch, again, finished second ahead of Hammond. Results 60 NOV: 1. Brien Pedgen (Kaw); 2. By Joe McKay WEST PALM BEACH, FL, APR. 5 An absolutely beautiful day saw over 475 enuies for 10 races and an endurance feature race take to the track for some of the best racing ever seen at Moroso Motorsports Park. The first race of the day, a 100mile endurance race, started with the two of the top teams in the country out in front. Team Lockhart's GSXRIlOO, with Larry Shorts, and Team Miami Vice with Thomas Stevens on board quickly established a lead on the rest of the field, with Stevens out froOl. On lap two Thomas overshot turn five at the end of the back suaight and managed to keep the bike from falling over in the deep Florida sand. He came back on the track in 20th place. Shorts took over the lead for the next 25 laps. After working through traffic with amazing precision, Stevens put Miami Vice back out in front. Back in the pack and moving up steadily was Miami riders Bill Kelly, and Rick Shaw, both on their new FZIOOO Yamahas. Tagging along was Bryan Schwing on a FZ750. All three were within a second of each other. Shaw and Kelly made several changes in position, with Schwing staying right in their exhaust. On lap 32 Stevens, who was leading by 15 seconds, broke a chain and had to coast back to the pits for a new one. Team Lockhart toole. over the lead SUZUKI "....
