Emig (47) is chased by Honde rider Jimmy Button (50) and Yamaha -mounted Chad Pederson (315) in a Mini Expert moto. 10 closed in on Lewis, and after tailing him for a few laps took the lead with a lap to go. Kiedrowski took the win, but it was Lewis with the l;lVerall. Kiedrowski wrapped up second overall with 7-1 fInishes, and Davis took third via 2-7 scores. Paul Vlach took the lead on the first lap for the first 125cc Modified moto, but Lewis flew past him on the second lap. There was a mad scramble for the top five positions, , and amid the battle, Manley and, Dubach went down together in a turn. "We' were both heading for the same line," said Dubach. "I left the door open, he jumped to the inside and we came across and met at the same time." '''He had so much momentum," said Manley, "I had him passed and he just didn't back off at all and we collided. " A lap later things had completely chan~ed. Brun~gewa~ in first.ahead of Michael Craig, whIle LewiS had dropped back to sixth after falling. Brundage went unchallenged for the win, as Dubach put on one of his many comeback charges of the weekend to take second. Lewis worked back to third, and Lowell Thomson finished fourth. Brundage grab~ the holeshot the second moto, but Lewis stuffed him in the second turn to take the lead. Brundage went down and injured his knee, taking out several riders with him. "I saw him go high so I just went underneath him and I slid and hit him," said Lewis afterwards. "I didn't know' I hit him;' I thought I hit the berm. I had to get in front ot him, and I decided that's where I was going to get him. " Brundage claimed that he was clipped, but said, "Sometimes that's what happens." Lewis took off with the lead and had a few seconds on Kiedrowski at midmoto. Dubach was on the move and closed in on Kiedrowski' by doubling a jump nobody did, but fell shortly after over another jump and had to charge tlirough the pack once again. At the end it was Lewis taking his second class win as Kiedrowski held second ahead of a charging pack consisting of Eddie Hicks, Davis and Dubach. Dubach was second overall with a 2-5 score, and Thomson's 46 was good for third. Kiedrowski led from start to finish in the first 250cc Stock moto. Dubach completed the first lap in second, then dropped out· of the top 10. Brundage took over and held second to the finish. Hicks rode in third for much of the race but was passed by Jeff Matiasevich on the last lap. Davis rounded out the top five. Manley took the lead when Stephenson fell on the first lap of the second moto, and it was about the only race that went right for Marlley all weekend. Brundage started out second and stayed close to Manley' for the first half of the race, but in the second half, Manley began to pull away. Manley easily took the wirt, but Brundage got the overall with 'COnsistent 2-2 rides. Kiedrowski finished fifth in the moto behind Stephenson and Thomson; his 1-5 giving him the runner-up slot. Manley was third with an 8-1 score. Dubach had his one good moto in the first 250cc Modified race when he grabbed the holeshot ahead of Hicks and Manley. Manley passed Hicks on the third lap then reeled Dubach in, staying right on his tail for the rest of the race. At one point, Manley clipped Dubach's rear wheel and almost went down, but he recovered and came back to dog Dubach until his engine died. Kiedrowski moved up to take second at the finish ahead of Thomson, Hicks and Stephenson. Hicks jumped out front at the start of moto two, but quickly fell back behind Brundage, Kiedrowski and Thomson. Halfway through the race, Brundage fell and Kiedrowski took the lead, quickly putting a few seconds on Thomson. Kiedrowski maintained his advantage to the finish, scoring the overall win. Thomson got his best finish of the weekend at second overall, and Hicks turned in his best performance at third overall. In both motos of the 500cc Pro class, the- race was between Mike Larson and Tommy Watts. Watts opened up a good lead in the first moto, but Larson reeled him in and began to work on getting around Watts. Watts fought Larson off, then the battle ended on ,the fifth of eight laps when Watts' chain derailed. , In moto two, Watts again started off with the lead and Larson came up to challenge. After a few close laps, Watts did a huge swapper on a high speed straight which spit him off backwards in a horrendous crash. Although shaken he was able to walk away and watched as Larson took another easy win. • Results JR CYCLE STK (6-8): 1. Jason Partridge (Kaw); 2. Robby Hammond (Kaw); 3. Broc Unruh (Kaw); 4.
