in the pouring rain. Mamola won the first
. round of the 500ccWorld Championship
on his Y2R.50o. Leaving everyone else
high and dry;
Mamola not only led the pack, he led
it from start to finish as others fell by the

wayside. In the end, crossing the finish line
with an impressive 42-second advantage.
Of course,Yamaha petfonns just as well
on dry ground, too. As evidenced by the
FZR750R win inthe Heavyweight Production
Class at theWERA 6-Hour Endurance Race
in Savannah, Georgia last week.
Which goes to show that the same technology that goes into the bikes you carlt buy;
