Bob Kline piloted his Honda to the victory in the 250cc Pro class at
the CRC motocross held at Glen Helen Raceway.
Danny Pacheco came from behind in both 250cc Beginner
capture the overall via a 1-1 tally at L.A'. County Raceway.
Taylor righl behind. Taylor used lhe
back section to complele a pass on
Jamerson for third. LaPointe trailed
Jorgenson through the firsl lap and
lhen used the flat, right handed turn
just before the levee to dive underneath Jorgenson.
When it was allover, LaPointe
took the overall, J.J. Taylor was
second with a 2-3 and Jamerson
copped a ·third.
250cc Novice race from start lO finish,
with Scott Hoffman working up to
finish second after a first lap crash.
Daryl Hawkins, who was third in
moto one, led from gate to checkered
flag in moto two and took the
overall.
Eric Browne ran away with the
250cc Intermediate race, easily winning both motos. Jim Kuntz worked
hard to keep Browne in sight, but
could do no better than a pair of
seconds for second overall. The 250cc
Pro turnout was light, with Bob
Kline, taking both motos for first
money. Chuck Whitemore gave
Kline some challenge in moto one,
but had to settle for second overall.
DeWayne Ray got the holeshot in
moto one of the 500cc Novice race
and led every lap until the last turn
of the last lap. Fifty feet from the
checkered flag, Ray was knocked
down by another rider, but bounced
back up almost immediately. Almost
wasn't good enough. Before Ray
could recover, Mike Sullivan caught
up and passed him for the win.
Sullivan clinched the overall by
taking the moto two lead on lap one
and cruising iIi for the win. Ray was
left lO fight his' way from a dismal
start up to another second.
