Rick Simmet (23) leads Kenny Kizzar (157) in the 125cc Open class. Sin:'met and his Honda took the overall ahead of Jeff long. LaRocco but still took third overall. "1 had to run a stock shock because my' Ohins was stolen," said Manley afterwards. "The stock shock just went away, and it was bottoming everywhere. 1 just tried to stay in second, because there was no way I could push any harder to gel Thomson." Matiasevich gave Thomson the closest race of the weekend when they squared off in the first division of 125cc Pros. Frankie Brundage shot into the lead at the start of the first moto ahead 'of Matiasevich, Thomson and Chris Youhg. Thomson quickly passed Matiasevich on the first laP, but if he wa going to win as he predicted, Manley wasn't about to make it easy when he too passed Matiasevich and pulled in behind Thomson. For the first half of the race, Thomson would put a little distance on Manley, only to have it shrink to nothing a short distance later.
