LaRocco but still took third overall.
"1 had to run a stock shock because
my' Ohins was stolen," said Manley
afterwards. "The stock shock just
went away, and it was bottoming
everywhere. 1 just tried to stay in
second, because there was no way I
could push any harder to gel
Thomson."
Matiasevich gave Thomson the
closest race of the weekend when they
squared off in the first division of
125cc Pros. Frankie Brundage shot
into the lead at the start of the first
moto ahead 'of Matiasevich, Thomson and Chris Youhg. Matiasevich
took the lead on 'lap three, then
Brundag-e went down and Thomson
slipped by too. Matiasevich was a few
seconds ahead of Thomson, but that
distance gradually disappeared.
When the white flag appeared Matiasevich got held up by a lapper and
Thomson moved in on his tail. Then
a few turns later Thomson powered
by through a high speed sweeper and
went on to take the win. Brundage
held on to, third throughout the
moto, finishing ahead of Young.
Hicks passed Bryan Emig to take
the lead early in the first division two

way through traffic and came up to
challenge Hawthorne for third at the
finish line.
Before the start of the final 125cc
Pro race, Thomson said, "If I get a
good start I'm gonna win." And he
got the good start, rounding the first
corner behind Matiasevich and
ahead of Manley. Thomson quickly
passed Matiasevich on the first laP,
but if he wa going to win as he
predicted, Manley wasn't about to
make it easy when he too passed
Matiasevich and pulled in behind
Thomson. For the first half of the
race, Thomson would put a little
distance on Manley, only to have it
shrink to nothing a short distance
later. Kalos was off to another bad
start and didn't break into the top
five until the sixth lap. When he
moved into fourth a lap later, the
race basically became a Thomson/
Manley duel for first, followed by the
