year by Rob McElnea. The burly
Englishman should show improvement over his fifth place finish in the
1986 title chase. McElnea repeatedly

1986. No matter what t'ngine combinations were tried, his bike was never
as fast as Lawson's because of his
weight and size.
The third and newe t member of
the Marlboro Yamaha squad is
japan's Tadahiko Taira. The multitime japanese champion switches to
the 500ccclass from Marlboro's 250cc
squad of 1986. Taira won a single
250cc GP last season in Italy at the
San Marino GP after bauling poor
starts throughout the season. He is
another rider who will welcome dutch
