In I · th e 80cc 9-1 1Interm ed latec ass, Yamaha-mounted Damon Huffman swept both moLOS for the overall vicLOry. ~ In the first moLO, Huffman nailed a picture perfect holeshot and took command. In close pursuit were Craig Decker and Jacob Swain, who ended up crashing a few turns later and losing a few positions. Swain quickly remounted his Yamaha and began hi~ charge up .LO the fronL By the lh~rd lap, Swam. had regamed hIS t thIrd place posllJon bUI was a long way behind Decker. Huffman went on and easily won the moLO followed by Decker and Swain. Huffman once again jammed LO the front of the pack at the start of the second moto, while Swain and Decker chased. For the rest of the moLO, Swain set his sights on Huffman and pressured the leader every inch of the way, but time ran out for Swain, and asthecheckeredfiagfiew,itwasHuf- fman coming in first closely followed by Swain, then Decker. Mark Myers and his Honda sLOle the holeshot at the start of the first 125cc Intermediate Divi ion One moLO with Chris Ward, Brian Gipson, Dwayne Scott and Paul Thede hot on his tail. During the second la p, Myers dropped LO third as Ward and Gipson powered by. Scott maintairred control of fourth, while Honda rider Mike Durbin moved into fifth. On lap three, Ward pulled alonF;side Gipson through a long and rough straightaway and eventually .snuck by for the lead. When it wasall over, it was Ward taking the first moro vicLOry inches ahead of Gipson. Myers wound up taking third ahead of Durbin and Scott. In . second round action, it was I Gipson taking the early lead ahead of Myers and Honda rider Pau.1 Cortez. Fourth was being held by Durbin. Myersquickly began putting the pressure on Gipson, who then started to pick up thepace,thus, puUingsJightlyon Myers. From this point on, the top contenders battled back and forth with·Gipson taking the win followed by Cortez and Durbin. Paul Malin nabbed the holeshot in the first 250cc Intermediate Division One motoahead of Tallon Vohland. Durbin and Mike Kurzeja. Mike Hooker rounded out the LOp five. For the next three laps, Vohland hounded Malin in every turn until he found an opening. Vohland saw his chance when Malin went wide in a turn and Vohland dove LO the inside and darted into the lead. Once into the lead, Vohland began pulling away while Malin decided to hang onto second by staying ahead of Durbin. At the finish it was Vohland, Malin and Durbin. Kawasaki-mounted Mark McLain smoked into the lead at the start of the second moLO, but McLain soon dropped off the pace, surrendering the LOp three positions LO Tim McClintock, Vohland and Paul Vlach. Vohland was the rider to watch as he motored into the lead, while Vlach followed into second place. This made the top five Vohland, Vlach, Durbin, McClintock and Craig Davis. Vlach chased Vohland right down to the finish but could never make a pass. When it was all over, VohJand wound up taking the win ahead of
