Steve Decker pulled the hoJeshot as the Open Amateur class came off the line, but Alan Crum charged through the turn to take over the lead. Crum eventually flew to the win. Jame~ Habacker followed him in second leaving Decker to setde with third. ' Habacker left Decker and Crum as they tangled off the line in moLO two. Crum gassed it and moved into the lead at the end of the first lap. Decker pulled off the track but came back a few laps later. Contest points were given on the basis of the number of sanctioned meets the dub sponsored, and included charity meets, charity donations and overall meet quality.
