DeVane got out of shape, allowing DeHoop some space as Barry Carsten and Robert McElroy moved on by. DeVane charged back around McElroy. His e((orts were wasted when he boggled, got underway, then fell again and was unable LO kick over his bike. By the time he was back on the gas he was nearly a lap down. Mike LaRocco worked his way up from a poor start to ride behind Chris Coleman then diced ahead at the end LO take fifth. Suzuki's Ronnie Tichenor could only manage a ninth place finish after a bad start and then problems throughout the moLO. Frisl cruised to the win with De.Hoop. Carsten and McElroy following in the distance. Coleman, aboard his Team Green/ PJI/H-PointiScou-backed Kawasaki. nailed the lead at the start of moLO two with McElroy, Frisz, DeHoop, Jay Mann and DeVane following. Carsten was left behind in a tangle entering the first turn. Frisl then went wide to charge into the lead, leaving Coleman to hold 0(( McElroy. DeHoop had his sights set on John Shay and Mann. but went down when his front tire got caught in the loam. He was forced to settle with a disappointingeigbth place firiish and fourtb overall. A long-faced DeHoop said, "It really upsets me. to get second in the first moLO, then just fall and finisb so DOOrly." Frisl styled LO the second moLO win as Coleman, McElroy, Kenny Bollmeier and Mann followed in the top five. I am really happy, after all the bad luck I had at the Winter AM." Scooter Stafford was on the mark at the start of the first 250cc Semi-Pro moLO. Tichenor quickly moved into second with John Reinholtand Jobn Skinny following. ta((ord pulled away to cruise out front, but Tichenor reeled him in after a few laps. They flew 0(( a jump side-by-side. When they landed, Tichenor was out from for good. Sta((ord dropped 0(( the pace but held second as Reinholt, Skinny and Edmund Swearinger rounded out the top five positions. Reinholt led the pack at the start of the second moto as Tichenor, Stafford and Skinny ran in back of the leader and David Paquette set the pace for the rest of the pack. Tichenor hit a rut in the whoops and endoed at the end of the second lap. He was unable LO finish the moLO. Skinny moved ahead of Stafford halfway through the IT)OLO and went on to finish second behind Reinholt. Sta((ord maanged LO hold onto third. Mike LaRocco steadily moved up to finish fourth and Swearinger followed in fifth. Tichenor said, "I wasn't feeling good today. I blew it in the first 125 moLO so I didn't even ride the second one. Then just now I couldn't see. because of the sun and hit a rut, then just went sideways. Now I really feel terrible. " Ted VanNest claimed the lead at the start of the first Open Semi-Pro moLO. John Collins followed right behind, but went down in the third turn. VanNest got loose when their bike connected, and lost his lead to Honda-mounted Tim Ealy. Alan Crum's Honda came out behind the leader leaving VanNest in third. Crum closed in on \pe leader with two laps to go. Ealy went high coming off the doubles, Crum went low and ducked LO the inside to take over the lead and then the win.
