Barely an hour into the race, Brauneck pitted for fuel anda rider change. Schlosser LOok over the controls and setoutafLer Rentzell butthisearlypit stop would haunt Dutchman Racing for the entire race. "We weren't our normal, smoothclicking machine," said Schlosser after the race. Brauneck explained further, "We made three mistakes. We started changing the tire too late; we miscalculated fuel consumption .and a problem with our refuel ing can kept everybody busy fixing it instead of keeping track of the race."
