but lost it to a hard-charging Rob
Knemeyeron lap three. Berry held off
Jason Yoshida for second rightto the

like he had hit a patch of glue.
Yoshida slipped by for second with

quickly and that was all he needed for
the overall win.
John Jackson led mota one of the
250cc Beginners from gate to flag, but

and the overall 250cc Beginner win.
The 250cc Novice race was visited
by a Japanese racer, Shega Nashumara, who rides for Yamaha of Japan.

Myers holeshot the first Pro malO

towards the front when his Kawasaki's rear suspension collapsed aU the
front straightaway jump and put
him out of the molO. Stringer overtook Tim Myers for second, but could
not catch the leader before the finish.
Myers was out front again in malO
twO followed by tringer and Montero. riding a borrowed machine. As
Myers stretched his lead, Montero
had more bad Iuck on the frOnt
straight jump. Stringer went down
on the jump leaving Montero no
place lo go but over the lOp of him.
Montero then hit· the turf himself.
Both riders remounted, with Stringer
making a determined malO long run
to catch Myers, but finished second.
Montero was never able lo find his
form after the spill and finished out
of the money.
Sorg swept both of his class motos
selling up the points tie with Myers.
Sorg used the power of a borrowed
1987 Honda 250 lO grab the holeshot
over Myers' Yamaha. Myers passed
Sorg early, but the pair collided and
wen t down com ing out of the woods.
Both were up quickly, only to take
