GOLDEN STATE NATIONALS: ROUND 1. ADELANTO, CA. JANUARY 4, 1987. Nothing could stop Kawasaki field general Ron Lechien at Adelanto's Golden State Nationals over ew Year's. ot the raging rain. Not the humongous mud bowl of a course. Cenainly not the competition. Because Lechien "The Machine" was at the top of his game. Running-and passing and winning both motos, Ron led teammate Jeff Ward to a 1-2 Kawasaki overall finish in the 250 Pros. Mike Fisher put more Kawasaki points up with a great kick for the 500 Pro title. There was just no workable defense against the Kawasaki speedsters and the mean green ,f57 KX line. Lechien and company shot through holes and blew right by everybody on their new KXbikes. This year's models are quicker with torquier powerbands. And they can tackle the toughest tracks with improved UNI-TRAK® suspension (another change for the better is the 19f57 MX Contingency Program with $913;775 in it for Kawasaki top performers). Make a New Year's resolution to take charge of your races. Buy a KX at your local Kawasaki dealer. Then bowl over your opponents. Let the good times roll. OFFICIAl. SPONSOR •
