The Open show was a combined, semi-pro affair with 14 entries and out of the hole it was Raymond on the ex-Alex Jorgensen Can-Am in the lead. The youngster held the corners well and was never headed, missing out on some fine action behind him. The hot guy of the last few months has been Rob Damron on the Damart KTM four-stroke. He will pick up the top black plate in District 36 competition, but was unable LO make any serious challenges for the win in today's main. He ran in sixth for most of the distance, until he came up under Perreault and Larry Silva. Damron got by them quickly, but still ended up in fourth. Kerry Puccio brought the Puccio Welding Honda home for second over Jimmy Sanchez, then Damron. Results PEE WEE: 1. HeClor Alverez (Yam~ 2. Jr. AJ_ez 3. Shawn ~I (yam). (Vam~ MINI: I. The day was gorgeous for November making for a good turnout of riders, in addition the Mini classes were running for a money purse today making the race a little more interesting. Taking the holeshot in the Mini B class was Latina, in second was Orange Park's Chris Coker and third was Travis Blackburn. ocr and running hard, all three were riding Kawasakis and Latina's seemed to have the horsepower edge as he was clea r Iy in charge. Meanwhile Coker, who only has one race under his belt in the past year, was losing ground as it appeared he was tiring, despite a good start. It wasn't much longer until Blackburn made the move that put him in second and Coker third. Lap after lap wen t by and Blackburn rode hard LO make up lost time. Time ran out and Latina was the top money winner this moto, Blackburn and Coker second and third. The last moLO had Latina and Blackburn going at it hot-and-heavy with Latina holding the LOp spot. Coker was hanging gn in third. The action between Latina and Blackburn was a push and shove affair for most of the moLO. Blackburn stayed right on Latina every tep of the way, hoping for a little mistake that would give him the lead, but it never came. Even with a double moto repeat it was a long ways from being boring. A decent race for all three with Latina taking the win and the overall; Blackburn was second. The Mini Novice class was equally exciting. Trampas Bass grabbed the lead on his Yamaha, second was Richie Brooker on a Honda, in fact the class was made up entirely of Hondas with the exception of Bass. On the second lap Brooker got a chance to pass ~ss and did it. On the 3. Kelley conquers Echeconnee MX By H. Bone and G. Crider MACON, GA, NOV. 9 David Kelley turned in a spec-tacular performance at Echeconnee MX as he scorched the track enroute to a perfect score in 250cc/Open Pro racing. Payne took the first moto holeshot with Ricky Palmer, Dukes, Lmdell and Martin in close tow. Dukes quickly dispatched Palmer and soon erased Payne's lead. Payne held Dukes at bay until the last lap when Duk~s saw his chance and went by Payne m a turn. Payne, however, stayed close and, going into the final corner, Dukes fell, giving the win LO Payne.
