In the final motoeveryone was very close off the line, but Hicks took the wrong line into the turn and got hung up in the deep stuff. Mscichowski grabbed the lead over Juenemann with Hicks back in third. By lap two Hicks got by Juenemann and was gunning for Mscichowski. Mscichowski started with about a 40-yard lead, but Hicks was making up at least 10 yards per lap. With one lap to go Hicks was glued to Mscichowski's rear fender going down the backstretch but Hicks bobbled a little just before the dogleg, handing the win LO Mscichowski. Juenemann scored a third place finish. Results Stacey Barnett (12) leads Patrick Slate (28) and the pack in the Senior Mini class at the Devil's Ridge MX in North Carolina. JR CVCLE: 1. Higgins hauls at Hillbilly Hills HS By Allen Gravitt and Phyllis Apone ROBERTS, GA, OCT. 26 H&H KTM's Barry Higgins roosted to the overall win at the second round of the SE&TRA Hare Scrambles Series aboard 32 his KTM 350. Keith Shelton put his Cycle South Can-Am imo the lead at the stan with the rest of the A and AA class emrants in two. Shelton led the first two laps before being passed by Higgins and H usqvama 400-mounted Mark Eaddy. Higgins and Eaddy linished onetwo, with Shelton third. KTM-mounted Allen Gravitt spem the first lap of the race taking soil samples while trying to pass slower riders. Bob Shillinger also bad a bad stan when his brake pads fell out just seconds before the gun went ocr. The subsequent repairs put him two minutes down by the time he got underway. Shillinger passed Graviu on the econd lap while Gravitt was straightening his handlebars following a crash. Gravitt then repassed Shillinger after the lauer crashed while pas ing slower riders. The two H&H-sponsored riders bauled it out for the re t of theda~with Graviu finishing three seconds In from of Shillinger to take third in the AA class behind Eaddy and Competition Plus/Hi-Poimbacked Bryan Adams. Higgins was awarded a $50 cash prize for his overall win and he turned right around and gave it to runner-up Eaddy. Besides the cash prizes, H&H of Mableton, Georgia, donated II cases of Duralube which wem to the top Husqvarna or KTM rider in each class. The Open B class was competitive and the,most competitive was class winner Derrell Cox. Manley Bradshaw Jr. beat out Mark Bullard for runner-up honors. Derryl Anderson WOODLA D, WA, OCT. 26 . Mike Hansen slogged his way through the mud to a I-I score to claim the overall victory in the 250cc class at the scrambles held today at Woodland's Motocross Park. The mud was very deep and most number plates were hard to read. so a vote was taken and the majority opted LO run just two moLO and get out. In moto one Hansen gOI the holeshot followed by Barry Swirl'S, Reed EiIL ,Ken SwiresandJoe Juenemann. Han en rode supt'r in the mud as he built up a 20-yard lead on the others. With one lap LO go Eilts crd hed in turn four, just before the checkered £lag. The order at the nag was Hansen, B. Swirl'S, K. wires, Juenemann and Eilts. In the final rdce it was on e again Hansen grabbing the holeshol while Eilts looped it on the start. Behind Hansen the order was K. Swires, B. wires,Juenemann and back 80 yards to Eilts. Hansen again built up a good lead, while EiILs playc-d catch up. Each lap he was closing the gap on Juenemann. With one lap to goB. Swirl'S moved by K. Swirl'S for econd and Eilts wa right on Juenemann' rear wheel. At the checkered nag it was Hansen, B. Swires, K. Swirl'S, Juenemann and Eilts right on his rear wheel. In the Four-Stroke Open class it was Jerry Hicks nailing the holes hot over Rick Mscichow ki and Juenemann, riding a 250. Hi ks wa looking good in the muddy conditions as he led Mscichowski by 15 yards after two and a half laps. Juenemann was MINI: 1. Ryan Anderson. 125: ,. Joe Juenemann. 250: 1.
