VERMONT Rick Pinney Jr. returned to winning form today by taking three out of four motos to win both the 125 and 250cc Expert classes at the D-7 championship series race at Hideaway Motocross Park. Pinney utterly devastated the 125cc class by easily winning both motos and traded victories with Dave Wolfskill in the 250cc class. In the Open Expert class, William Runkles bested the field by sweeping both motos. In the first 250cc Expert moto, Pinney and Wolfskill had to chase down early leader Troy Coons before the two of them settled down to the business of burning up the track. Pinney took the lead on the fifth lap with Wolfskill nipping at his heels. Pinney remained cool under pressure, but Wolfskill stayed within striking distance. With two laps to go, Wolfskill's number came up. While Pinney was • held up in the whoops by a lapped rider, Wolfskill charged his SportCycle Suzuki/WR Racing-sponsored RM250 into the lead. Pinney picked up the chased immediately, but was unable to regain the lead. Wolfskill took the win with Pinney second, Randall Everett third, Mickey Pentoney fourth and Randy Rudisill fifth. In the second 250cc Expert moto, Pinney grabbed the lead and never looked back. Wolfskill gave chase, but the chase was in vain as Pinney raced away to win by 18 seconds. Wade Mathews was third, Pentoney fourth and Everett fifth. Wolfskill tried to get an early advantage in the first l25cc Expert moto by swooping into the lead on the first lap. Pinney hooked on to Wolfskill's rear fender and challenged for the lead immediately. On the second lap; Pinney out-jumped Wol£skill 'over the triple jump and took the lead. Wolfskill tried to contest Pinney, but seized his Suzuki in the process.
