Gaurd ended up fourth for the maLO and the overall, and Davis turned in a LOp ride LO take over fifth. Then, obviously getting good pit signals telling him he needed LO pass Gaurd lO win, Davis made a last-ditch banzai thal fell short by only a few feet at the line. . Consistency was the key in the Vet Junior Class. Rod Winfree won the first maLO after moving from third LO first in one lap. A heated battle ensued for the remaining positions with Jack McCormick taking second, and Will Decker finishing third. Winfree holeshot and led the second mota as well, but there was a close battle right with him. Rick Glass moved from third LO first to win the maLO, and Decker moved from well back in the pack to take second, bumping Winfree to third. McCormick made a last-straight pass on a tiring Winfree to take over third and give the class a three-way tie for first. Decker took the overall win with McCormick second and Winfree third. • Butch Smith was impres;ive in the 80cc Intermediate class. The HRP/ Honda rider destroyed the field in each maLO to win over Dale Rayzor and Kayle Johnson. There was good racing in the 250 Novice class. There were two divisions - both on the track at once. When the dust settled, two Kawasaki riders were the winners. Kevin Peoples won the first division and Ronald Williams took the second. Results MINI BEG: 1. Cv Jennings (Yam); 2. Brett Comer (Hon); 3.
