White whips OTs at Glen Helen MX By Bob Alloy SAN BERNARDINO, CA, SEPT. 28 John White and his Honda teamed up to clinch an overall victory, today, in the Old Timers Masters class at Glen Helen MX. The SMX-sanctioned race saw a total of 37 Old Timers sign up to do battle, which also saw Richard Bealer, Milton Roybal I and Myles Addy wrap up class wins. At the start of the first Master moto, 12 riders lined the starting gate, and when they all rounded the first turn, it was White leading the way. White maintained his lead for the next II laps to take the win, while Dennis Rosenburg labored his way up from a so-so start to nab second. Third went to Yamaha rider Ron Dugan. In round two it was a different story. Yamaha-mounted Jim Belmich blasted into the lead and quickly extended his advantage over White LO take the second moto win. But White knew all he had to do was finish second in the moLO and the overall would be his. His plan worked, for his 1-2 tally was more than enough to claim LOp laurels. In the first Expert division moLO, Dan Sanchez led from start to finish to nail the win while Richard Bealer and Dick Frampton finished second and third. The final moLO saw Don Bordeau steal the holeshot and lead for two laps before crashing. Sanchez saw his chance and took over first, but six laps later, he LOO went down. This lime it was Bealer inheriting the lead, but he wanted to stay out in from by keeping his bike on two wheels for the remainder of the race. The win gave him the overall ahead of Sanchez and Frampton. Results MASTERS: ,. John White (Han); 2. Ron Dugan (Yam); 3. Dennis Rosenburg (Kaw). EX: 1. Richard Bealer (Yaml; 2. Dan Sanchez (Yam~ 3.
