~ ~ WMX Cagiva-powered prototype. We feel this is a ignificant achievement for this motorcycle which, with an 80cc engine, et the World MPG Record (557 mpg) for street legal vehicles attbe 1984 Vetter High Mileage Contest. We entered the La Carrera 11 to test tbe chassis in preparation for our assault on the l25cc World Speed Record (152 mph). During the race, Dan Hanebrink piloted the fir t third, with Bob Lebo handling the econd part and Andy Baines taking it to the checkered flag. A "dustbin" [airing was built from our streamliner molds to reduce side area and high-speed stability problems inherent with crosswinds and fuJI treamlining. The bikefeatures a kneeling riding position to reduce frontal area, ri in rate monoshock rear suspension, J 6-inch wheels, 55inch wheelbase, weighs 180 pounds, and has a top speed of around 135 mph with the "dustbin" fairing. The eventual goal is to develop a lightweight, efficient, fully aerodynamic, stable Slreet legal motorcycle.
