Knott secures win at Stepp Mill MX By Loren Williams DEMING, N.M., SEPT. 5 On a wet and rainy day at Stepp Mill Motocross, Hondamounted Larry Knott claimed the Enduro class win in what many thought was the best racing of the day. Yamaha rider John Langston finished second, ahead of Kawasaki rider Jeff Jefferson. In the main, Langston was han· dily leading umil the sloppy track got the best of him. He crashed letting Knott and 250cc C rider Philip Rice slither on by. Langston recovered and set after Rice. As the two riders aimed for the double jump, Langston elected La ride through the jumps, while Rice tried La clear 'em in one lead. Rice payed the price of the risk. and crashed out of comention. KnOll finished up with the win, ahead of LaI'\gston and Jefferson. Honda rider Mike Brown claimed double class wins for the day, topping both the 80cc (13-16) Senior Mini class and the 125cc C division. Results PEE WEE: 1. Bo Shannon (Kaw); 2. Willie Ables (Kaw); 3.
