Coleman, Herman win Berwick SX By Thorn Veety BERWICK, PA, AUG. 30 Kawasaki rider's Chris Coleman and Steve Herman each won two classes at Evansville Raceway's Supercross races Labor 44 Day Weekend. Coleman LOok the holeshot in 250cc Expen action followed closely by AcLion Photo/Conklin Cycle/DynoPan sponsored Terry Kuhn, Bruce Gray, Jim Hauer and Mike Wagner. Coleman kept his COUnLry Cyclel Precision/Hi-Poim sponsored Kawasaki in from for the entire IO-Iap feature taking the win over Kuhn, Hauer, Gray and Jeff MaLlock. Coleman grabbed the lead in the 125cc Expen final with Kawasaki pilot Dan Ponz a close second followed by CRP's Brian Carroll, Robby Hayes and Jimmy Mcilvaine. Coleman and PonI pulled a few seconds ahead of the pack and had a real battle going for the entire IO-Iap feature. At the end it was still Coleman in from with Portz taking a close second with Hayes in third. Mcllvane and Carroll rounded out the LOp five. Jeff Allen was the sLOry in 250cc _ Amateur action. taking his Kawasaki LO the front of the pack and winning both L11e quali£ier and [eature with a pair of wire-to-wire wins. Dennis Cousemino took second with Jeff Oberdorf third ahead o[ Mike Holmes and Tom Mowery. Chris Cavlak went to the early lead in the I25cc Amateur final with Matt Bond in second followed by Jason ovoshelski, Steve Herman and Bill Frank Jr. Novoshelski moved imo second and Herman imo third on lap two. Herman took over the lead on lap three and went on for an easy vicLOry over NovoshelsTci, Bond Frank and Jeff Allen. Raben Momross took his Suzuki to poim in the 250cc Novice final. Dan Gordner was in a close second followed by Lester Lynn Jr., Frank Levan and Charlie Borg. Montross held the lead umil the h"lfway poim when Levan took over and went on for the win with Gordner second ahead of Lynn, Joe Resbnger and Montross.
