In mpto one it was Adam West getting the holeshot ahead of Travis Markell, M Cormick, Richard Browning, Marlin Hanson, Glendel Hanson and Larry Kopp Jr. Within a lap Markell battled his way past West. Mal·kell, West and McCormick put on a show while half pu hing each other to the limit as they went out to a 50-yard lead on the others. All positions remained the same and at the checkered flag the order went to Markell, McCormick, West, Browning, M. Hanson, G. Hanson and Kopp. Markell gOt the scratch in the final molO followed by McCormick, West, Browning and the others. On lap two McCormick took his (O'Neil/Seoul PBIIEaslSide MC) Kawasaki into the lead for good. This time Markell and West chased the lillIe speedster to the finish. At the flag it was McCormick, Markell, West, Browning, M. Han· son, G. Hanson and Kopp. In ihe 2S0cc B class it wa-s Mike Kates getting the snatch over Kevin McCarthy, Kurt Stevens, Keith Di· Brino and the others. On lap two Stevens moved up a notch as did Jeff Miles a lap later. Lap four saw Tim Parker have a pmblem as he went down a lap. Meanwhile, Kates was looking good out front. At the finish it was Kates, Stevens, Miles, George Fortin, McCarthy and the others. In molO two Kates got the holeshot and went wire-to-wire. Behind him in order was Stevens, DiBrino, Miles, McCarthy, Parker, Andrew Thompson and Fortin. Miles moved up a notch on lap two and Fortin did the same a lap later. By lap five Fortin worked his way up to fourth. The finishing order was now set.
