Thomas takes two at Calhoun MX By Jeff Jacobsen CALHOUN, GA, AUG. 10 Chris Thomas (Kawasaki) blew all competition away in the l25cc and 250cc motos today at Calhoun MX. He and David Floyd were early leaders in the first 250cc moto, but Thomas gathered speed and let no one near him. in any moto' The Enduro class had a large turnout and in the first mota, Raymond Holt led for two laps, but Mike Waters got the best of him for the win. By the second mota, rain had poured so everyone had to be cautious on the sl ick tracle Bobby Scoggi ns took the lead in this moto, only to be passed by Waters in the third lap and then by Stacy Rogers in the last lap. Holt took. second overall. The Novice race was the largest of the day with Kevin Beaver riding more like a Pro than a Novice. He won both races easily with Mike Waters behind in the first moto_ In the second round, Rodney Goley was in the second spot until the last lap when Waters, who had been in the sixth position at the first lap, sped past for second. By Bill Holt PERKIN, IL, AUG. 10 It took most of the season to do itand it was no £luke, but Glen Milleville took his first win in the 400cc class at the Pekin M/C-sponsored round 29 of D-\7's Dirt Track eries. Today was also a first for another season long bridesmaid. Steve Hall put his Yamaha in the winner's circle of the Miniclass over Brian Graybeal and Scott Huff. HuU was headed for the runaway win when his bike slowed to a stop on the backstretch and the rest of the pack flew by led by Hall and Graybeal. Hall held on from there for his first win. Huff's luck wasn'tany better in the 125cc final, as his usually slow start let Bart S hmulbach t~ke the lead, and this time, Huff was unable to get by. Schmulbach took the win with Huff second and Greg joop third. Schmulbach made it back-to-back wins by coming right back in the 250cc final to take the win there also.
