Stork quickly crept upon Overman. They came of( a jump together. with Overman just a bit ahead, going into the tabletop. 0[£ the tabletop they went and with a sudden twist of the wrist Stork was by to take the checkered flag by the length of a front tire. Overman was forced to settle for second. The second moto saw Dale Ruggles take the win; Stork finished second. The overall win went to Stork, second went to Ruggles, and third overall went to Overman. Racing in the l25cc B class was almost as exciting as Pro action. Brad Wagner captured the early lead and ran away from the field, leaving Jay Will, Scott Alden, and Richie Lundstrom to scrap for second. Alden made his move early in the mota and motored past Will for second. Will then decided to make the younger Alden struggle to hold on to his hard earned spot. After nearly catching Alden previously, Will passed him over the tabletop. Lundstrom watched and waited for a while, slipped past Alden to take over third place, behind Wagner and Will. Lundstrom was first of( the line in the second moto with Alden behind; they were followed by Scott Mann and Wagner. Alden quickly zipped past Lundstrom to take over the lead. Wagner then shot past Mann over the tabletop. Determined to regain the lead, Lundstrom flew past Alden and went on to nab the overall win. tonight aboard a borrowed Yamaha 500. Hamilton has been away for several weeks and many felt that he might not be competitive on the unfamiliar Storr Yamaha. Taking the holeshot at the start of the main event Hamilton surprised everyone especially Ken Peschel riding a WoodRotax out of Fairfield. Peschel had the horsepoweT and had easily won the heat race earlier in the evening. Peschel hounded the front-running Hamilton the entire race and stayed glued to his rear wheel wai ling for the slightest mistake. Hamilton would not be pTessured 0[£ his line though and stayed smooth the whole race. Finally on the last lap Peschel was able to drive under Hamilton coming out of turn four in a drag race for the finish. Hamilton stayed on the gas however and WOD by a wheel in what was one of the most exciting races of the evening. Jose Aguilar topped the 250cc J unior class in a f~st paced race with Tommy Knight. John Mitchell was again the winner in the 60ccclass and Vernon Dupree repeated this week ahead of hard-charging Cory Yarrow of Fairfield. Results Freeman. VET: 1. Roger Hamilton; 2.
