Saturday's firsL l25cc Expert moLO saw New Mexico's Bruce Williams on a Scou's Kawasaki jet into Lhe - - Te"aa. Un lap lW()R.fdc Kamola-on a privaLe Kawasaki passed Williams and Lhe LwO KX riders started LO pull away from Lhe pack. Meanwhile, Munson on his Jim SLewart/Suzuki MOLorcycle & Marine RM was sLuck in Lraffic. After Lhe halfway mark Williams gOL by KanLOla, bUL couldn'L shake him. By now Northern Power Sponssponsored Andy Workman broke from Lhe pack LO join Lhe leaders. The Lhree freighL trained around on Lhe diHicull-lo-pass Lrack. With only LWO laps LO go Munson caughL up LO Lhe leading trio and passed Workman. Trying Lo geL by KanLOla was harder and they overlapped bars over a whoop secLion sending KanLOla Lo the ground. Munson, now in second, challenged Williams for Lhe lead. Following behind Munson, and now in third, was his Suzuki MoLorcycle & Marine teammaLe Good. NeiLher Good nor Munson could pass before Lhe checkered, though, leaving Williams wiLh firsl. MOLO LwO was a Lance Leneave holeshot. The Kawasaki of Anchorage rider,was followed by Anchorace Cycle Sales' Butler. Good was again in Lhird. BoLh Munson and Williams found Lhemselves aL Lhe back of Lhe pack. Leneave (inally succumbed LO BULler's pressure and bobbled allowing boLh BULler and Good Lo pass. Munson rode like Lhere was no LOmorrow and sliced Lhrough Lhe oLher riders LO pUL himself into fourLh. Leneave fell back and iL was Good and Butler way OUL front, with Munson now a distanLLhird. By the moLoend Good passed Butler and finished Lhe moLO in firsl. His 3-1 was good enough for the overall win. Munson took second overall with a 2-3 finish while a 7-2 gave BULler Lhird. Butler dominaLed Lhe day's 250cc Expen aCLion. The firsL moLO SlaTL saw Butler and ills Yamaha Lake Lhe lead with a deLermined Munson in lOW. For 30 minutes Munson stuck his wheel under Butler in every Lurn but Butler never made one mistake. The LwO riders lapped theenLire pack and kept Lhe spectators on Lheir (eeLLhe emire Lime. The checkered flag fell wiLh Butler in firsL over Munson. The second moLo was a replay of the firsL wiLh Buller OUL fronl. Soon Munson began LO challenge for firsL, but BULler wouldn't budge. A last corner desperaLe pass aLLempL by Munson pUL him on his heal. He Scott Steffy won the 125cc Pro division at SIR in Kent. Washington. remounted in Lime LO hold omo second and second overall behind Buller. Munson was determined on Sunday Lo regain his winning form. The I25cc Expen firsL moLO found Kawasaki of Anchorage's Kelly Styles out from with Kamola, Good and Munson righL behind. Styles held out umil Lhe halfway mark when Good passed for Lhe lead. On the neXL lap Munson caughL up and passed boLh Kantola and SLyles for second. By now Good had a sizeable lead and Lry as he could, Munson couldn'L catch him by Lhe moLo end. Buller didn't have much luck with Lhe 125s and mechanical problems saw him sidelined before Lhe [jnish. MOLO Lwo was all Good's. He led from stan LO finish and was never challenged. Munson gOL a LOp 10 stan. bUL tangling with a downed SLyles put boLh of Lhem aL the back of the pack. Second place was held all moLo long by Workman. A firsL molO sixth lefL him WiLh only a fourth overall Lhough. Kawasaki of Anchorage's Jim McClain used consistency and a 3-3 Lo bag second overall. Munson finished fifLh for the moLO for Lhird overall. Butler pulled Lhe firsL molO holeshot in the 250cc Expen class and Munson followed. Nothing much else happened. Munson tried as hard as possible, bULcouldn'L phase Butler. The two finished in LhaL order. After an entire weekend of eaLing someone's rOOSL Munson gOL mad. BULler again pulled Lhe holeshoL in moLo two bUL on lap two Munson made a pass and pulled away. With no mistakes Munson flew to a first place finish and Lhe overall win. Buller Look second and second overall. Overshadowed by Lhe dynamic duo, Pennisula Honda's Kevin Schaub beaL Lhe reSL of the pack 10 finish 3-3 and third overall. Results SATURDAV 80 NOV: ,.
