going a!5din in third place. On the next lap Holland was able to lind a clean line around Cooper. Holland motored 10 the lirst molO win lollowed by a charging Dymond, who had passed Cooper and Kehoe in the clOsing stages ol the race; Kehoe linished third just ahead ol Willie Surrail and Eddie Warren. Cooper had dropped to sixth in the last laps ol the race and was lollowed by Larry Brooks, Keith Turpin, Ricky Ryan and Brian Myerscough. Cooper had an explanation lor his sixth place linish. "I went down in the whoops while leading," he said. "The bike just pogoed me right over the lOp. The rear tire caught me on tile neck and it's a lillIe sore but I don't think it will a((ect me in the second molO. I should have had that one. That was my molO to win." "It took me about hall the molO 10 get going," Holland said. "I was able to lind some good lines and I started to ride well ... Dymond and Eddie Warren were side-by-side in the first corner as the second molO got underway. At the end ol one lap Dymond led, Cooper had pas ed Warren lor second and Surrall and Bowen rounded out the top live, Those lOp five remained the same until the lourth lap when Cooper started 10 fade and Bowen started 10 charge 10 the [ronl. Bowen passed Surrall, Cooper and then Warren 10 move iOlo second place behind Dymond. Bowen wa clearly the fastest rider on the track and when he passed Dymond at the 20-minute mark it looked like Ule second molO win would be his. But disaster suuck again for Bowen a his chain came off in the deeply-rulled first turn. By the time Bowen could get the chain back on most of the pack had stormed by and he pulled of( the track for good. Bowen's double DNF dropped him to lourth in the point standings and robbed him ol any chance he had for the title. With Bowen out, Dymond surged back into the lead and went on 10 win the second moto by 15 seconds. Warren crossed the line in second and that finish coupled with his lirst molO fifth gave him third overall. Holland finished third to capture second overall and Kehoe and Cooper crossed the line in fourth and fifth, respectively. Surrall, Ryan, Bader Manneh, Tyson Vohland and Eddie Hiclc.s rounded out the top 10. "I didn't really get going in the lirst molO, but in the second molO I was able 10 get a good start and I just rode my race," Dymond said. "Bowen was riding really last, but he had some bad luck. But my strategy was to win the overall and not the econd molO. I was just riding my own race and thinking of the series. I've got a good chance to win the series and I want to take these last two races one at a time. I'm looking forward to Hollister next week because I grew up riding tracks like lhat." • t..O 00 0"> - Results 125: ,. Micky Dymond (Han) 2-1; 2. George Holland (Suzl 1-3; 3.
