CA 90201 (213) 773-2164 By Henry Muller ---Invite you to attend the next round of t h e - - WINSTON SALEM, NC,JULY 18-19 Mike Jones flew his Team Green Kawasakis to the 125cc and 250cc Pro class titles in the M&M Productions Mid-Atlantic MX at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. Friday night's 125cc Pro main began with Brian Stanley leading Jones, David McGuyrt and Gerald Wood through turn one and over the double jumps. Jones quickly took the lead and had built up a IO-second cushion by the time Wood squeezed past Stan· ley for second. The top three places were set with Keith Watson carving through the pack for fourth over McGuyn. The 250cc Pro main went more to Jones' liking as he pulled the holeshot and went unchallenged for the win. Watson and Wood battled for runner-up honors wi.th Watson holding second over Wood. Ti.mmy Barnes and Vann Gibson filled out the tOP five. Aubry Stimpson nailed the start of the l25cc Novice main but it was Wayne Guin in the lead at the end of lap one. Capitol Cycle Supply's Lee Williford passed Shane Templeton and Stimpson, then sailed past Guin through the whoops for the lead. From then on it was Williford's race with Guin second over Templeton and Shane Kennedy. The Senior Mini class fell to John Winslow and with it the title over Hank Moree. In the Super Mini class' it was Hank Moree taking the win and the title over Winslow and Steve Gilley. Mike Jones and Gerald Wood held the crowd's attention on Saturday as they careened off each other for half ofthe I25cc main before Wood bailed oU and Jones took the win. Jones holeshot the 250cc main and left Vann Gibson and Wo.od to fight for second. Wood took the position when Gibson fell in a slick right· hander and dropped to fourth. Jones took a strong win over Wood with Timmy Barnes finishing in Wood's shadow for third.
