Going into the race, Joas had already locked up the Lightweight Modified National championship. By lap four, Adamo, Church and Tunstall had spread out, and continued to leave the balance of the BoTT field behind. The battle between Kieffer, Van Staden, Liebman, Johnson and Doug Gross continued to heat up, while Doug Gross led the Heavyweight Modified field and Johnson set the pace for the Lightweight division. By lap seven Adamo's lead over Church had increased to II seconds, and Kieffer and Van Staden ran noseto-tail as they closed on Tunstall. Church crashed on lap 10, while Gross joined the Kieffer/Van Staden fight for third. By lap 14 Adamo was lapping riders, and Johnson had lapped Joas. Tunstall finished a distant second behind Adamo, Kieffer took third, Gross finished fourth to take the Heavyweight Modified win, and Van Staden got around Liebman to take fifth.
