Hughes. On lap 19 the two riders
raced through the check barrels sideby-side. The next lap it was Jendre in
the lead, but the two continued racing tire-to-tire. When Jendre came
around for the white flag on lap 22,
Hughes·was no longer behind him;
engine seizure problems had forced
him out of the final-lap battle. Jendre
took the checkered flag and overall
victory with 23 laps.
Hughes landed the I25cc class win
with his 22 laps. Moving into second
for third in the 125cc class was CharIe Richards on a Yamaha. Finishing
a close third was ick Zanella on a
Honda.
Joe Powers won the 200cc class by
an impressive four laps on his Family
Kawasaki 200. Pow.ers was the only
other rider to complete 23 laps.
Winning the Senior class was Rick
Harder on a 350cc KTM. Harder had
ju t passed leader John Gallagher
when Gallagher had throttle troubles
and had to pull out. Second and third
place in the class went to Dave Simmon and Greg Guesman-both riders
had worked their ~ay up with consistent riding from s'ixth and eventh
for their wins.
