In the first molO of the 250cc and pen Pro action, Berry pulled the holes hot and was followed by Tim Linn, Rod Vogel, Danny Hanson nd Chad Lundstrom. Linn then ulled ahead of Berry to temporarily take over the first place position, but it wasn't long before Berry was back n the gas and back around Linn to regain his lead. After that it was all ver for Linn and the rest of the field s all hopes that any of the riders may have had about catching Berry were uickly shattered. As Berry continued lo open up his already very comfortable lead over Linn and his mstant competitors, yet another oC the few battles was wag· ing. The war between Hanson and Lundstrom. As Lundstrom struggled lOmcewith Hanson, the latter bobbled coming off the whoops and Lundstrom stormed past to take over third place. But it wasn't over yet; Han on picked up his pace and charged right back after Lundstrom. Lundstrom crashed and Hanson went on to chase Linn, but was unsucces ful in catching rum. Berry continued on to take the win ahead of Linn, Vogel, Hanson, and Lundstrom. In molO two, ~erry again pulled first out of the hole but this time had Lundstrom and Hanson in lOw. Hanson quickly slipped past Lundstrom lo pursue Berry and, not long after, Hanson began to feel the pressures of Lundstrom as he tried in an unsuccessful attempt lo make a bump pass on Hanson. After Lundstrom crashed he fell back to fifth place, but was able lo later move up lo fourth place after passing Vogel and Linn passed Han· son. Berry styled his way through the molO to take the checkered £lag ahead of the field. Linn, Hanson, Lundstrom and Vogel rounded out the top five. In the firs t molO of the 125cc A class, Ward Wasserbui'ger took the holeshot just ahead of Berry, Clint Overman and Kevin taman. Berry, however, quickly shot past Wasserburger to take complete control of the molO. Berry rode a £lawless race lo the finish while he left Wasserburger and Overman to battle for third. As Wasserburger and Overman continued lo dice they ended up taking themselves out and handing second place over lo Jensen and third over lo Goodell. The second molO was a bit better for Wasserburger and .Overman as they continued to struggle for the second place position. The two finished second and third behind Berry. ~ ~ bD ;::3 ~ SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 1986 Gates Open Practice First Mota 8:00 A.M. 9:00 A.M.
