Melton, Gravitt feted at TRA Banquet sa By Phyllis Apone ATLANTA, GA, JULY 12 This year's Southeastern Enduro & Trail Riding Association's awards banquet drew nearly 300 people, making it the most successful SE&TRA banquet ever. Many people had to be seated in another room to be accomodated, but the silver lining olthat was they were seated in the room where the food was being served.. Can-Am rep john Fero introduced guest speaker Ed Hernelder, of- Din Rider magazine fame via his Duct Tapes column, who provided entertainment with his enduro "Hall of Shame" one-liners. One that stands out in this writer's mind was the one about SE&TRA AA class rider Darryl Kuenzer, whose "newspaper articles were so bad that he had to start his own publication to getthem printed." KTM sales representative jeH Hill opened the evening with a short, but sweet invocation. Hill and Husqvarna rep Mark Hosbach brought plenty of contingency awards and gifts for trophy winners who competed on their respective brands of bikes. Overall Enduro winner Mike Melton was present to receive not only Bob "Hurricane" Hannah and Team Suzuki on their victory in the Unadilla 250cc World Championship U.S. Grand Prix Motocross. In Moto #1 The Hurricane came from a 10th place start to pilot his factory Suzuki to a second place finish. And in Moto #2 Hannah was in 4th place after the first lap, moved to second in lap #2, and captured the lead by the 3rd lap on his way to victory! .. introducing _~- p,.~ Thru extensive Research & Development, Wlseco has introduced a revolutionary new 2-cycle piston design for Dirt Bikes.
